Sioux Falls Canaries News Release

Sioux Falls, SD - Local rock and roll favorite, Kory and the Fireflies, will perform at the Birdcage following the Saturday, July 1st Canaries/Sioux City Explorers game. This special performance is part of the celebration of Sioux Falls' sesquicentennial and begins immediately following the special sesquicentennial fireworks celebration. Game time is set for 7:05 PM.

"Sioux Falls turns 150 only once," said Canaries President John Kuhn "and a ballgame, fireworks, and concert with Kory, is a great way to kick off the Sesquicentennial Celebration." The fireworks and concert are presented by the Sesquicentennial Task Force and a variety of local sponsors.

The Kory and the Fireflies concert will be set up outside the front gate at the Birdcage and is FREE to the public. No game ticket is required.

"It is great to see local businesses step up and help celebrate Sioux Falls' 150th birthday," said Canaries General Manager Matt Hansen, "and we are pleased that they wanted to do something special here at the Birdcage."

On July 2nd, the Canaries will offer $1.50 General Admission tickets in recognition of the Sesquicentennial. This offer is good for day of game purchases only.

"There are so many great Sesquicentennial events planned and we are fortunate to be a part of a couple of them," said Hansen.

Also on the agenda for the sesquicentennial celebration is a gala ball, Family Fun Day at various businesses, a Mayor's luncheon, and a FREE picnic at Falls Park. For more information on all the Sesquicentennial events please click on the Sesquicentennial logo at www.siouxfalls.org.
