In front of a sellout crowd on Bill Murray Bobblehead Night, St. Paul broke a close game wide open in the late innings, defeating Pensacola 7-1. Up 2-1, the Saints scored one in the seventh on 2B Josh Renick's first home run of the season and four more in the eighth: SS Steve Butler was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, Renick singled in two more runs, and 3B Patrick Scalabrini hit an RBI single. Anthony Boughner got the win for St. Paul, giving up one run on seven hits in 7 2/3 innings of work. DH Larry Bethea was 3-for-4 with a double for the Pelicans.

Fort Worth 9, Coastal Bend 2

Fort Worth whacked 14 hits and moved one game behind Pensacola and Coastal Bend for the South Division lead with a 9-2 rout of the Aviators. Six different players had two hits for the Cats, led by SS Marc Mirizzi, who hit his fifth home run of the season and his second in as many nights; 1B Jordan Foster also had two doubles. Four Fort Worth pitchers combined to strike out 13 Coastal Bend hitters. 1B Byron Smith went 3-for-4 with a run scored for the Aviators.

Sioux City 9, Lincoln 8, 11 innings

After erasing deficits of 4-0 and 8-5, Sioux City won a wild one in the bottom of the eleventh on a bases-loaded walk to LF Jorge Moreno. The X's trailed 8-7 with two outs and the bases empty in the bottom of the ninth, when a CF Ryan Ruiz double and an RBI single by 2B Alex Llanos sent the game into extra innings. Ruiz finished the evening 5-for-6, while every other starter in the Sioux City order had at least one hit. CF Evan Tartaglia led the way for the Saltdogs, going 3-for-6 with a triple and three runs scored.

St. Joe 3, Sioux Falls 1

Four different St. Joe pitchers limited Sioux Falls to five hits as the Blacksnakes earned their fourth consecutive win, 3-1. St. Joe tallied single runs in the first, second and fourth, the latter two coming on RBI singles by 3B Ben Thomas. The Yellow Birds' only run came via DH Chad Hermansen's RBI single in the sixth. Andrew Edwards got the victory for the Snakes, allowing three hits and one run in 5 1/3 innings pitched.

Shreveport pounded out fifteen hits and thumped El Paso 8-0, putting the Sports two games behind Coastal Bend and Pensacola for the South lead. RF Austin Easley went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBI for the Sports, while DH Chad Gambill went 3-for-5. In his first start of the season for Shreveport, Josh Neitz dazzled, scattering four hits and shutting out the Diablos in seven innings of work, striking out three. 3B J.P. Schmidt had two of El Paso's four hits.
