April 8, 2005 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2)
Missouri River Otters News Release

The Fort Wayne Komets squeaked out a 2-1 victory against the Missouri River Otters Friday night in front of 5,469 fans at the Family Arena.

Fort Wayne dominated the first five minutes of the game, and they took the lead two minutes in when Jonathan Goodwin rifled home a great pass from Colin Chaulk. Missouri tied the game on their first shot when Ryan Johnson sped up the left wing and rocketed a shot behind Komets goaltender Tyler Masters. A power-play goal gave Fort Wayne a 2-1 lead as P.C. Druin scored on a knuckler from the right point that squeeked behind Jason Tapp.

Those three goals were all that either team could muster, and the Komets skated off with the victory. Masters made 20 saves for the victory while Tapp made 37 saves in defeat. The River Otters will travel to Kalamazoo Saturday to take on the K-Wings at Wings Stadium. The puck drops at 6:30 CST, and all the action can be heard on KSLQ 104.5 FM and the B2 Webcast at www.riverotters.com.
