Fort Wayne, IN: The Road Warriors went into shootouts for the second time in as many nights but did not collect the extra point in a 4-3 loss against Fort Wayne.

The Komets got off to a fast start with a goal just 1:46 into the first period. Kaleigh Schrock intercepted a clearing attempt in the slot and fired a quick shot for his seventh of the season. Halfway through the period, Schrock would score again for a 2-0 lead in favor of Fort Wayne. His eighth goal of the season was shot from the boards that snuck past Road Warriors' netminder, Scott Stajcer. With 2:05 left, Zach Cohen drove in a loose puck around the net for his eighth of the year to bring the game to a 2-1 score.

Schrock completed a natural hat trick just 4:02 into the second period with his ninth of the year. Nick Wheeler found Schrock open in the slot who beat Stajcer low blocker. Greenville outshot the Komets 13-8 in the period but could not find the back of the net.

The Road Warriors came out flying in the third period and Danny Hobbs began a two-goal third period with his eighth of the year. Lee Baldwin gave a pass to Zach Cohen in the face-off circle to begin the play. Cohen drew a defender to him and passed the puck to an uncovered Hobbs, who scored low glove. Brendan Connolly tied the game at three on a back-door goal with assists from Jordie Johnston and Marc-Olivier Vallerand. Connolly scored his 22nd of the year. Time would expire in regulation and Greenville dominated overtime. The Road Warriors outshot Fort Wayne 7-1 but neither team scored. The Road Warriors also did not score in four shootout attempts which led to the loss. Schrock and Jamie Milam scored for the Komets in the shootout to win the game 4-3. Stajcer lost the game with 19 saves and Jeff Deslauriers won with 39 saves in 42 shots.
