INDIANAPOLIS - Rookie Mike Colantone scored his first professional goal for the Indy Fuel but it wasn't enough as the Fort Wayne Komets nabbed the back end of a home-and-home series at Indiana Farmers Coliseum with a 2-1 win.

Colantone scored on a wrist shot from the slot, beating Komets goaltender Pat Nagle (32 saves) low to the stick side to make it 1-0 Fuel at 17:49 of the second period.

Indy found itself down five-on-three just over two minutes later and the Komets' top-ranked power play cashed in at 19:34 to tie the game right before intermission on Mike Embach's 13th of the season, his eighth on the power play.

In the third, Domenic Alberga converted for the game-winning goal when Embach's initial shot deflected off a Fuel defenseman, hit the goalpost behind Shane Owen (26 saves) and ricocheted out the other side. Alberga put it home for his second goal of the season.

The Fuel would have chances to tie the game for the rest of regulation including at 11:25 when Ben Marshall was awarded a penalty shot. But Marshall's wrist shot missed low to the stick side and the Komets preserved the lead.

Indy will now welcome the Wichita Thunder for the team's only appearance at Indiana Farmers Coliseum this season at 7:35 pm. The Morellis Cleaners Pre-game Show starts 15 minutes before every puck drop on CBS Sports 1430.
