Fort Wayne, IN - The Komets announced today that veteran All-Star center Colin Chaulk has agreed to terms and been added to the Fort Wayne roster for the 2005-06 UHL season. It will be the 4th straight season in Fort Wayne for Chaulk and 8th as a pro.
Chaulk, 28, led the Komets to a Colonial Cup Championship his first season in Fort Wayne in 2002-03 after taking the Tarry Cup Championship that season. Chaulk guided the Komets to their 2nd straight regular season league championship in 2003-04 and skated with the Komets to a Western Division crown last year.
The Toronto, Ontario native has been the Komet's captain each of his previous 3 seasons while leading the team in assists and points each year. Last year Chaulk dished a career high 73 assists for his 2nd consecutive season while adding 19 goals for 92 points and accumulating 129 penalty minutes. Chaulk is Fort Wayne's all-time UHL leader in assists (205) and points (270).
Chaulk has been a UHL starting All-Star the last 2 seasons. He was also named All-UHL First Team Center last year. The veteran skater was named UHL Best Defensive Forward for 2002-03 and 2003-04 and was voted Komet Team MVP for 2003-04.
The addition of Chaulk brings the Komet roster to a total of 6 players signed for the upcoming 2005-06 season. Also agreeing to terms for the upcoming season are goalie Kevin St. Pierre, defenseman Troy Neumeier and forwards P.C. Drouin, Danny Stewart and Michael Wiggins.
