Komets ground Icehawks 5-1, trim Port Huron's series lead to 2-1

Fort Wayne, IN 5/4/08 --- The Komets grounded the Port Huron Icehawks Sunday night in Fort Wayne 5-1 to trim the Hawks' series lead to 2-1 in the IHL Turner Cup Finals.

A Memorial Coliseum crowd of 6,204 witnessed center Justin Hodgman net a pair of the goals in the match including the game winner. Also scoring for Fort Wayne were centers Terry Marchant and Colin Chaulk and winger Matt Reynolds. Port Huron winger Tad Lardner scored the only Icehawk goal of the game while skating with the man advantage. Both teams were 1/9 on the power play.

Komet netminder Nick Boucher registered his second win of the post-season on 25 saves while Hawk goalie Larry Sterling posted his second loss of the playoffs making 37 saves on 42 shots.

The best-of-seven series continues Wednesday at Port Huron at 7pm with game four. Game five of the series will be played in Fort Wayne Thursday at 7:30pm. If necessary, game six is slated for Port Huron for Saturday, May 10 at 7:30pm. If game seven is needed it will be skated at Fort Wayne Monday, May 12 at 7:30pm.

Tickets for Thursday's Komet home playoff game go on sale at the Coliseum Ticket Office Monday morning at 10:00.
