
Komets Find Chaulk in Stocking

Fort Wayne, IN | Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010 --- The Komets announced Sunday that Colin Chaulk is returning to Fort Wayne. The veteran center has agreed to terms including the remainder of the 2010-11 season and the 2011-12 campaign.
Chaulk, 32, is skating his 13th pro year and will return for his ninth season with the Komets. The Toronto native started this season appearing in 26 games as a member of Alleghe of the Italian elite league and registered four goals, 15 assists for 19 points and accumulated 40 penalty minutes.
Chaulk was a member of the Komets for their past three straight championship seasons and also collected a league title as a member of the Komets in the UHL in 2003. The four-time Fort Wayne champion was named the IHL's Outstanding Defensive Forward of the Year for 2009-10. It was his fourth Defensive Forward of the Year award while skating with Fort Wayne. Chaulk also received three Komet team end-of-season awards for 2009-10 including Best Defensive Forward for the fifth time, winner of the Plus-Minus Award and his fourth Fort Wayne team MVP honor.
"The return of Colin Chaulk will be of great excitement to all of our loyal fans," said Komet general manager David Franke. "He will help improve the fortunes of the hockey club when he re-enters the lineup. Colin is a great team leader and can be a dominant player on the ice."
Chaulk led the Komets last season with 58 assists and 85 points. He also topped the IHL with a plus-34 while netting a career high 27 goals. Over a span of eight seasons with Fort Wayne the veteran center has scored 150 goals, 411 assists, 561 points and 811 penalty minutes in 461 games and ranks sixth on Fort Wayne's all-time top 10 point leaders list.
Chaulk is expected to be added to the Fort Wayne roster this week and make his 2010-11 debut Friday, New Year's Eve when the Komets host the Quad City Mallards at 8pm.
