New England Knockouts News Release

BROCKTON, MA - The New England Knockouts have announced their two draft picks from the 2024 Frontier League Draft. This was the first draft appearance in New England's young history.

The Knockouts were awarded the first overall selection in the Frontier League Draft. With the pick, they selected right-handed pitcher Casey Bargo. A Kentucky native, Bargo played three seasons at the NCAA division-one level for UNC Charlotte and Ball State University. In nearly 40 appearances, Bargo produced a 4-3 record, along with 49 strikeouts and two saves.

The 6-8, 230-pounder also tossed one summer for the Peninsula Pilots of the Coastal Plain League. Bargo faced eight batters in two games, allowing just two hits.

New England also selected right-handed pitcher Dan Goggin with the 17th pick (2nd round) of the draft. Goggin, now 26, is a former minor-leaguer. He was picked in the 17th round of the 2019 MLB Draft by the New York Mets. In three seasons with the Mets system, Goggin made it as high as AA Binghamton. He pitched close to 63 innings, combining for a 5.03 ERA and 63 strikeouts. Goggin holds a 2-2 MiLB record.

The Philadelphia native played his collegiate days at James Madison University. In two years for the Dukes, Goggin tossed 65 strikeouts in close to 40 appearances. He also recorded one NCAA save.

The Knockouts are set to open their inaugural season on Friday, May 10th against the Ottawa Titans. Tickets for opening day can be purchased at https://tickets.knockoutsbaseball.com .
