Knights to Play Bend in First Round of WCL Playoffs

Bend clinched the West Coast League's wild card berth last night. As a result, the league office shared its first-round playoff pairings this morning. Corvallis will play the Elks in a best-of-three series; with game one at Vince Genna Stadium in Bend on Tuesday, August 12. Game two is set for Goss Stadium in Corvallis on Wednesday, August 13. First pitch is 6:40 pm. Gates open at 6 pm. Get your tickets online or at the gate. Reserved seats are $10 and GA $6. If game three is necessary, it will be held at Goss on Thursday, August 14. The Knights close the regular season tonight at Medford. Corvallis won the first two games of its series with the Rogues, 2-1 and 8-3. If the Knights (35-18) win tonight and Cowlitz beats Bellingham (36-17), Corvallis would earn home field advantage through the playoffs as the Knights own the tie-breaker with the Bells, beating them 2 of 3 at Joe Martin Field during the season, and Corvallis would also finish with a better record than Yakima Valley (34-19). Jake Otness of PLU is tonight's probable starter for Corvallis. The Voice of the Knights, Alex Kuhn, calls all the action on KEJO 1240 AM. Make sure to tune in!
