
Knights to Bid for 2014 MasterCard Memorial Cup

LONDON, ONTARIO: Dale Hunter, Mark Hunter, Basil McRae, and the rest of the London Knights organization are pleased to confirm that the Knights will be submitting a bid to host the 2014 MasterCard Memorial Cup. The bid documents are due on Monday, February 11, 2013, at which time the Knights will be sharing with the Site Selection Committee their business plan and theme in the event they are successful in being awarded the rights to host the event. The Knights last hosted the MasterCard Memorial Cup in 2005, culminating in a convincing 4-0 victory by the Knights over Rimouski, marking the team's first Memorial Cup Championship in history. The Knights advanced to the Memorial Cup final in 2012, but were defeated in overtime by the host team from Shawinigan.
Details of the bid will be made public once all presentations have been made to the Site Selection Committee in April.
