Knights Thwart Titans' Comeback Efforts

MIDDLETOWN, N.J. - The Titans made it interesting in the final two minutes, but the Knights withheld the valiant effort to tie the game late.
Facing a two-goal deficit the Titans found themselves with a two-man advantage. Goaltender Spencer Wright was also pulled, giving the Titans a 6-on-3. Keegan Miller capitalized on a rebound left by Knights' goalie Andrey Svistunov and buried it to make it a one-goal game.
However, Austin Redders cleared the puck out of his own zone off a faceoff and the attempt was on goal and into the empty net to seal the win for the visitors.
The Titans found themselves having to kill off a bench minor at the start of the third period. The Knights took advantage of the fresh sheet of ice, scoring just 23 seconds into the period. Carson Knopp was able to get his stick on the puck in midair after the initial shot from the point.
It was Knop's second goal of the game.
It took seven more minutes for the Titans to get on the board. Â Defensemen Darren Brady and Pat Gazillo passed it around before Gazillo wound up and blasted a slap shot that was initially stopped by Svistunov but Miller was able to put the puck in the net to keep hopes alive.
Miller's two-goal night now gives him 13 on the season and is now leading the team in that category.
Jacob Hamacheropened the scoring just 1:19 into the second stanza while Knop's first goal came at 12:27 of the second period.
Wright stopped 28 of the Knights' shots while his counterpart Svistunov stopped 31 of the Titans' 33 shots on goal. Both teams went 1-for-6 on the power play for the game respectively.
The Titans will have a chance to avenge the loss Saturday night at Revolution Ice Centre on road. The puck is scheduled to drop at 7 p.m. It will be the Titans' last road trip of the calendar year as they'll have four home games prior to the two-week holiday break.
