Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights News Release

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights, a local hockey program based out of the Revolution Ice Centre in Pittston, Pennsylvania, have partnered with a local charity organization, Ladies In Pink, to help teach our young athletes how to give back to our local community while raising money for organizations and increasing public awareness of ice skating and hockey here in Northeastern PA. The Knights will be wearing special jerseys in a game held on Friday, January 4, 2019 at the Revolution Ice Centre at 7pm against the Jamestown Rebels. The jerseys worn in the game by the Knights will be auctioned off to the public during the game.

About Ladies In Pink:

Michele Zini was diagnosed with stage IV Inflammatory Breast Cancer, a very aggressive form of breast cancer, in July of 2000. She was a business woman & mom who passed away in August of 2005 at the age of 46 leaving behind her husband Leo and children Antonio & Rose, who were 11 & 8 at the time of her death.

In an effort to keep her generosity alive, a group of neighbors, friends, & her sisters formed the non-profit Michele's Ladies in Pink. They provide monetary assistance to those battling cancer and also make small monetary donations to local families who are being affected by any type of cancer all year long. Lastly they provide one male & one female senior at Valley View High School with a scholarship.
