PITTSTON, Penn. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights fell to the Maine Nordiques, 5-2, in a 3 o'clock matchup on Friday, November 8th at Revolution Ice Centre.

The Knights' record is now 9-10-1-1 (W-L-OTL-SOL) in regular season play.

"We need to be hard to play against and right now we aren't doing that," said Head Coach Tom Kowal.

The Nordiques posted two power play goals within ten minutes of regulation to gain a quick 2-0 lead.

However, a last-second goal for the Knights in the first frame put them within one of tying the game going into the second period. Liam Haslam netted the goal, with assists from Zak Currie and Nikita Asylaev.

The second period resembled the first, as the Nordiques scored an additional two goals in the first half of the second period, to extend their lead to 4-1.

Currie capitalized on the power play with 8:28 remaining in the second period, with an assist from Haslam, to give the Knights' its second, and last, goal of the game.

The Nordiques tallied a fifth goal with 6:13 left in the game, sealing a 5-2 victory.

Zach Stejskal played a full game in net and made 23 saves.

"We had plenty of chances to score and change the outcome of this game, and we were unable to take advantage of them," said Kowal.

The Knights face off against the Nordiques again Saturday, November 9th, for a 7:00pm game at Danbury Ice Arena.
