ODENTON, Maryland - Despite multiple scoring opportunities for both teams, the first period came and went without a goal scored for the Knights or the Black Bears.
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton battled through two penalty-kills in the first frame, and ultimately could not capitalize on the power play when Maryland's Thomas Jarman was penalized for interference. At the conclusion of the first period, the Knights led the Black Bears in shots, 10-8.
