Knighthawks Trade Jacobs to Buffalo

(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Knighthawks General Manager Jody Gage announced today that holdout Duane Jacobs has been traded to the Buffalo Bandits. In exchange for the forward, Rochester receives Buffalo's second-round selection in the 2003 National Lacrosse League Entry Draft and also has the option to trade first-round picks in the 2003 draft with the Bandits.

Jacobs leaves the Knighthawks as the franchise's all-time leading scorer. In eight seasons, he registered 169 goals and 185 assists for 354 points in 93 games (second all-time). He is also the team's all-time leader in playoff points with 42 (20+22) in 13 games. Jacobs was a member of the 1997 Major Indoor Lacrosse League championship team. The native of Burlington, Ontario, was Rochester's MVP in 1999 and was a four-time Second Team All-Star (1996-99).

Rochester (0-1) prepares this weekend for two games against the Vancouver Ravens as they practice at Total Sports Experience in Gates at 8:00 p.m. Sunday night. The Knighthawks travel to British Columbia for a 5:00 p.m. game on Sunday, January 12th and return home to host the Ravens on Saturday, January 18th. Both games will be carried by News Talk 950 WROC. The January 18th game in Rochester will also be televised live on WRWB TV-16.
