Knighthawks Sign Historic Naming Rights Deal
January 2, 2015 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Rochester Knighthawks News Release
The Rochester Knighthawks have become accustomed to making history. It was just one season ago that Rochester made league history by winning its third straight Champion's Cup.
Today, the Knighthawks made franchise history by announcing Connors & Ferris, LLP, as the naming rights sponsor for the team's home field for the next three seasons. As Western New York Workers' Compensation, Social Security Disability Lawyers, Connors & Ferris is one of New York's largest law firms dedicated to representing injured workers. The partnership brings together two heavyweights in the Western New York community.
"The attorneys and staff at Connors & Ferris are excited to partner with the championship organization of the Rochester Knighthawks," said Greg Connors. "The Knighthawks' ownership and front office share Connors & Ferris' commitment to working hard to be the best. We are proud to partner with the best franchise in professional indoor lacrosse."
"As long time supporters and sponsors of local sports, it makes sense for Connors & Ferris to partner with the Rochester Knighhawks," said Tom Ferris. "Our firm strives for excellence on behalf of our clients in the same way the Knighthawks do for their dedicated fans in Western New York. We are excited for the success we will see together in 2015."
The Knighthawks, who have won five world championships in 20 seasons, will open the 2015 season on Connors & Ferris Field at The Blue Cross Saturday, January 3rd. The deal is the first of its kind in franchise history.
"We know that Connors & Ferris are committed to, not only their clients, but helping grow the game of lacrosse in the Rochester area," said Knighthawks President Lewis Staats. "We are proud to announce this new partnership and thank them for their commitment and support of the Knighthawks."
The Knighthawks will officially dedicate the field Saturday during their 7:30 p.m. opener against the Toronto Rock. The on-field ceremony will take place at halftime. The evening will also include the raising of the Knighthawks' 2014 NLL Championship banner. To attend the historic night, tickets are still available at the Knighthawks Office or by calling (585) 454-4295.
