Knighthawks re-sign veterans O'Toole and Hasen

(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Knighthawks General Manager Jody Gage announced today that the team has re-signed goalie Pat O'Toole and defenseman Mike Hasen to one-year deals. Both players are back for their ninth seasons with the Knighthawks.

O'Toole enters the 2007 season as the team's all-time leader in wins (69) and saves (3,802). He is also tied for third in games played with 111. Last season, he led the National Lacrosse League in minutes played (928) and saves (598). His 598 stops also set a single-season franchise record. Further, he was named a starter for the East Division NLL All-Star Team and earned Defensive Player of the Week honors after winning two one-goal games (January 28 and January 29).

In his 12-year NLL career, he has been to four championship games and won a Major Indoor Lacrosse League championship in 1996 with the Buffalo Bandits. He also stands third in league history in saves with 4,512. With Rochester, O'Toole has guided the team to title games in 1999, 2000 and 2003. In 2003, he was named the NLL Goalie of the Year and a First Team All-Pro. In 2003-04, he was named to the Knighthawks' 10th Anniversary Team and represented the team as a NLL East Division All-Star. He was also named the East Division starter in the 2005 All-Star Game.

Hasen also returns for his 13th season of pro lacrosse, having spent four seasons with Buffalo and the past eight with the Knighthawks. Hasen has served as the team captain for the past four seasons. Last season, he earned the team's Best Defenseman Award. In 2003-04, he was named to the Knighthawks' 10th Anniversary Team. Further, he received team MVP and Best Defenseman honors that season. He was also named to the 2003-04 and 2005 NLL All-Star Game. He is fourth on the franchise's all-time penalty minute list with 188 and is tied for third in games played with 111.

The Knighthawks will open their NLL Training Camp on Saturday, November 11th and Sunday, November 12th at All Star Sports Arena in Irondequoit, NY. The first day of camp will run from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the facility at 557 East Ridge Road. The Knighthawks will then hold a 10:00 a.m. to noon practice on Sunday. The practices are free and open to the public. Players and coaches will be available for autographs following the workouts.

The Knighthawks will open their 13th season of professional lacrosse on Saturday, December 30th against the defending National Lacrosse League champion Colorado Mammoth. Gametime is set for 9:00 p.m. at the Pepsi Center. Rochester plays its home opener on Saturday, January 13th against the Toronto Rock at 7:35 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena at the Rochester War Memorial.
