Rochester Knighthawks News Release
(Rochester, January 19)... Rochester Knighthawks forward Cody Jamieson was named the National Lacrosse League's Rookie of the Week for his six-point performance last Saturday against the Toronto Rock. Jamieson scored his first pro hat trick to go along with three assists in his home debut.
"It felt good but obviously I would rather do it in a winning effort," said Jamieson. "We hope to do better as a team at our next game."
Despite his six-point night, Rochester (1-1) lost to Toronto 12-9 at The Blue Cross Arena. The former Syracuse University and Six Nations star now has five goals and three assists in two games. He was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 NLL Entry Draft. On December 23, 2010, Jamieson signed a 10-year deal, which was the longest in National Lacrosse League history. He is already excited to get back on the floor this Saturday.
"The last couple of minutes of the fourth quarter we showed what we can do as a team when we put our minds to it," said Jamieson about Rochester's three-goal in four-minute run. "We have to play like we did at the end of last game. We are anxious to get back out there."
The Knighthawks will visit TD Garden to face the Boston Blazers on Saturday, January 22nd. The 7:30 p.m. matchup will be broadcast live on The Zone 94.1 FM and www.thezone941.com.
