
Knighthawks Announce 2010 Schedule

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Knighthawks announced their 2010 National Lacrosse League schedule today. Rochester will enter their 16th season on Saturday, January 9th against the Buffalo Bandits at The Blue Cross Arena at the Rochester War Memorial.
The Knighthawks remain in the six-team East Division this season and play 12 games against divisional opponents. The schedule also includes nine different opponents and two games against the new Orlando Titans, who moved from New York to Florida in the offseason. Last season, Rochester secured its 14th playoff berth in 15 seasons, but lost 11-10 in overtime to the Titans in the East Division Semifinals.
The K-Hawks' play their 2010 home and season opener at 8:05 p.m. on Saturday, January 9th in the first of two games against the rival Bandits to open the season. The contest will follow the Rochester Americans' 2:00 p.m. American Hockey League game against the Lake Erie Monsters.
Rochester will then hit the road to take on the Bandits at HSBC Arena on Saturday, January 16th at 7:30 p.m. The game is the first of three straight road games for the Knighthawks. The second leg takes the âHawks to Toronto for a 7:00 p.m. game on Saturday, January 23rd at the Air Canada Centre. Rochester then flies down to Orlando to face Casey Powell and the Titans on Friday, January 29th for a 7:35 p.m. contest at Amway Arena. The following evening, the Knighthawks host the Toronto Rock at 8:05 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena.
The K-Hawks will open the month of February with a two-game set against the Boston Blazers. Rochester travels to TD Garden in Boston to battle the Blazers at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 6th. The next weekend the series shifts to Rochester for a 2:05 p.m. afternoon showdown on Saturday, February 16th. The game is part of the second back-to-back game with the Amerks Hockey Club. The lacrosse precedes the Amerks' 7:05 p.m. game against the Lake Erie Monsters.
On Saturday, February 20th, Rochester makes its first trip back to Philadelphia since the 2008 season. The Knighthawks meet the Wings at 7:00 p.m. at the Wachovia Center. Following the game, Rochester returns home for four straight home games.
The Knighthawks' longest homestand of the season features games against the Edmonton Rush, Orlando Titans, Buffalo Bandits and the Calgary Roughnecks. Rochester opens the home stretch against Brodie Merrill and the Rush at 7:35 p.m. on Saturday, February 27th. The following Saturday, Orlando comes to town for its first ever trip to Rochester. The game is a 7:35 p.m. faceoff. On Saturday, March 27th, Rochester takes on the Buffalo Bandits for the third and final time of the season at 7:35 p.m. The four-game set at home ends against the defending champion Calgary Roughnecks on Saturday, April 3rd.
Rochester will enter the stretch with three of its final four games on the road. The lone home game is the regular-season home finale on Saturday, April 10th against the Toronto Rock at 7:35 p.m. The road games take Rochester to Minnesota on Friday, April 9th, to Toronto on Friday, April 16th and ends with the team's first ever trip to Everett, Washington to battle the Stealth on Saturday, April 24th.
