Knight blasts 300th Minor League baseball homerun

Fort Mill, SC - It may have taken Charlotte Knight Ernie Young 16 seasons in the Minor Leagues to reach 300 career homeruns but he didn't waste anytime getting there today. In the bottom of the first inning Young lifted Brian Slocum's offering, first pitch fastball, over the left field wall giving the Knights the 2-1 lead.
Young, 36, is batting .248 (38-153) on the season and has seen action in 46 games for the Charlotte Knights in 2006. He has connected on 7 homeruns while also driving in 30 runs. Young had spent the last two seasons with the Buffalo Bisons and combined to hit 47 homeruns, 20 in 2005 and 27 in 2004.
