Klempa Returns to Wichita to Add Scoring Punch

Wichita, KS (November 6 th ) - The Wichita Thunder of the Central Hockey League, powered by Toyota, announced the signing of forward Tomas Klempa this morning. Klempa is expected to be in the line-up tonight as the Thunder makes its first trip to the BOK Center to take on the Tulsa Oilers.

Klempa, 29, joins Thomas Beaureguard in Wichita as both were recently released from Tulsa this past week. A native of Prestany, Slovakia, the 5-foot-8, 185-pound forward played in the ICT back in 2009-10, recording 22 points (10g, 12a) in 26 games that season. Prior to signing in Tulsa, Klempa led Fort Worth in scoring a year ago with 53 points (21g, 32a) in 66 games while also leading the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees in 2011-12 with 59 points (28g, 31a) in 64 games. The sixth-year pro spent a four-year career at the University of Nebraska-Omaha collecting 99 points (43g, 56a) in 150 career games including a career-high 14 goals during his senior campaign.

To make room, forward Tyler Sheldrake has been waived. Defenseman Andrew Martens has been activated off IR while Tyler Hostetter has been placed on the 7-Day IR.

The first meeting of the season between the Thunder and the Oilers is slated for tonight at 7:05 p.m. at the BOK Center. The teams face - off seven times in Tulsa and seven times in Wichita. The Thunder's next home game is Saturday, November 9th against the Missouri Mavericks.
