July 11, 2023 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Kitchener Rangers News Release
The Kitchener Rangers are saddened by the loss of long-time Director Dave McLelland, who passed away on Saturday. Dave was a Director with the Rangers (1970's-2001), Honourary Director (2001-Present), and a fan of the Rangers since the team's inception in 1963. In the late nineties, he initiated the current banner program in the roof of the Aud and started the Kitchener Rangers Alumni Association.
McLelland Hall, the Rangers historical museum, was named in honour of Dave McLelland. For six decades, Mr. McLelland has collected memorabilia, keepsakes, and memories of franchise history, and has generously donated his collection to the Rangers so it may be enjoyed by fans now, and for years to come.
The Kitchener Rangers wish to express their deepest condolences to Dave's entire family.
