
Kinston\'s Kouzmanoff Voted May POM

GREENSBORO, N.C.âKinston third baseman and cleanup hitter Kevin Kouzmanoff was voted the Carolina League's Topps Player of the Month for May in a poll of the managers.
For the month Kouzmanoff batted .327 (36 for 110) with four home runs and 29 RBI. Cumulatively through games of June 6, the Newport Beach, Calif., native is the league's leading hitter at .346, with nine home runs. He also has 45 RBI and a slugging percentage of .616, both good for second in the league.
The right handed hitting Kouzmanoff was drafted out of the University of Nevada in the sixth round in 2003 by the Indians. Last year in 123 games at Lake County (South Atlantic League), Kouzmanoff batted .330, with 16 home runs and 87 RBI.
