Southaven, Miss. - The Mississippi RiverKings pressed the IceGators late in the game, but could not cash in the tying goal as they fell to Louisiana 2-1 at home on Friday night.
Alex Morton got the scoring early in the game, as Scott Darling could not handle the puck off the boards and Morton swooped in on the rebound to give Louisiana the 1-0 lead.
The RiverKings had an answer late in the first period. Darrell Stoddard ripped a Matt Whitehead pass over the glove side of B.J. O'Brien to tie the game at one with 1:15 left to go in the first period.
