Game Preview - Ice Flyers at Mississippi Surge
February 10, 2012 - SPHL (SPHL)
Pensacola Ice Flyers News Release
After battling hard and losing a close game on Wednesday, the Ice Flyers are looking for a win at the expense of the Surge tonight. The fact that it's a bitter rivalry makes them want it that much more. The Ice Flyers hold a 4-3 edge in the season series and want to make sure Mississippi doesn't even it up. The last time these two met, it was a tight 2-1 battle in the Hanger that saw the Surge head back to Biloxi with the win. The Ice Flyers scored 2:49 into the game and Jeff Rose was outstanding in net but aside from that Coach Gordon was extremely displeased with his team's play. He will not allow a similar performance.
The Ice Flyers are still 4th place in the SPHL. After Wednesday's tough game they have a road record of 9-9-3 heading into the Mississippi Coast Coliseum where the Surge are 9-6-2.
