Casey DeGroote hit a pinch-hit double over the centerfielder's head with one out in the ninth to drive home Joe Shallenberger from first base and lift the Kings to a 2-1 win over the Florence Freedom on Tuesday. Shallenberger had two hits on the evening and scored both of the Kings' runs. Starting pitcher Lee Naplin pitched six innings, allowing one run on six hits with five strikeouts and one walk. Greg Wiltshire picked up the win, pitching one inning of relief in the ninth. Kalamazoo begins a three-game series tomorrow at Chillicothe before returning home on Saturday to host Washington.
