Manchester Monarchs News Release

LOS ANGELES, CA - President/General Manager Dean Lombardi of the 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, and parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, announced today that qualifying offers have been sent to the following seven restricted free agents:

Dwight King - LW

Justin Azevedo - C

Andrew Campbell - D

Thomas Hickey - D

Stefan Legein - RW

David Meckler - LW

Jake Muzzin - D

The following player was not sent a qualifying offer, therefore making him an unrestricted free agent:

Ray Kaunisto - LW

Teams are required to extend a one-year "qualifying offer" to any current restricted free agent by June 25 in order to receive the right of the first refusal or draft choice compensation should that respective player sign an offer sheet with another NHL club.

If a team does not give a qualifying offer to a restricted free agent, he is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1, and can sign with any team with no compensation required to the player's former club.
