Fond du Lac Dock Spiders News Release
KENOSHA, WI - A rough second inning from the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders (33-23) would prove to be the difference in a 10-5 loss to the Kenosha Kingfish (27-29). Kenosha now has a 1.5 game lead over the Dock Spiders in the second half standings.
After a scoreless first frame the Kingfish would pick up nine runs off of eight hits.
Zac Taylor (Illinois) would have his best outing as a Dock Spider getting his first home run in a Fondy uniform which was a two run shot that came in the 3rd.
Fond du Lac made a late push in the 5th after Duncan Hewitt (Butler) led things off with his team his team leading 3rd home run of the season. Kenosha still had a 9-3 lead over the Spiders until Zac Taylor (Illinois) would come through with his second hit of the ball game.
A hard hit ball into left center field for Taylor would send home Alex Erro (Northwestern) who had singled earlier in the inning. Taylor would make it all the way to third making it his first triple as a Dock Spider. Fondy would pick up one more run in the inning but it would not be enough to comeback.
Fond du Lac will square up against the Kenosha Kingfish for one more time this season tomorrow at 4:05 at Simmons Field.
