Kenosha, Wis. - The Kenosha Kingfish have been crowned as the #1 Summer Collegiate Team in the nation in 2015. For the first 7 weeks of the Collegiate Summer Baseball Rankings beginning in June, the Kingfish had consistently ranked in the top 30, the highest being seed #6 in week 4.
Collegiate Summer Baseball Rankings (CSB) is the official online summer collegiate baseball ranking database as they look at summer leagues throughout the country including The Northwoods League, Cape Cod Baseball League, Alaska Baseball League, California Collegiate League, Coastal Plain League and more.
The Kingfish went 52-24 in 2015, winning both the first and second halves. The Kingfish swept the Northwoods League Summer Collegiate World Series, ending with a 8-1 victory over the St. Cloud Rox in Game 2 in St. Cloud.
General Manager, Jake McGhee, shares his excitement for the team's award, "I'm excited that we have earned this honor because it couldn't have happened to a better group of players and coaches. While their on-field achievements are spectacular, these guys couldn't have been better to work with and did a great job representing the Team in the community."
