The Kingfish have announced that pitcher Rico Garcia will join the team for the 2015 season. Garcia was a Northwoods League All-Star last year for Kenosha and one of the most reliable arms for the Kingfish.

Last season, Garcia started 11 games and threw over 66 innings of work, compiling a 5-2 record along the way. The ace was first on the team in strikeouts (52) and ERA (1.89) among starting pitchers. Garcia's 0.98 WHIP was one of the best in the Northwoods League. Along with his All-Star selection, Garcia was also picked as the 10th best prospect in the Northwoods League by the 18 Northwoods League field managers.

Garcia hails from Kapolei, Hawaii and attends Hawaii Pacific University.  As a junior this season, the right-hander went 6-4 with a 2.18 ERA in 10 games. The hurler also struck out 87 batters and only allowed 26 walks. Last year at Hawaii Pacific, Garcia set the school record for most strikeouts in a game (16) and in a season (74). He was also named to the Second Team all PacWest team.
