LOS ANGELES, CA - The 2014 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have agreed to terms on a new three-year contract with restricted free agent left wing Dwight King, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

The 25-year-old King (born on July 5, 1989) is a 6-foot-4, 230-pound native of Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan, who has appeared in 157 career NHL regular season games - all with the Kings - over the past four seasons, totaling 54 points (24-3054), 41 penalty minutes, and a plus-14 rating.

This past season, King led his team with two shorthanded goals, earned his first career hat trick versus Phoenix on October 24, 2013, and set new career highs for most games played (77), most goals (15), most assists (15), and most points (30) in one season. On the Kings, he tied for fourth in goals, finished seventh in points, and finished fifth in plus-minus (plus-16).

King also appeared in all 26 Kings postseason games this past season, helping Los Angeles to its second Stanley Cup championship in three years by totaling 11 points (3-811), 20 penalty minutes, and a plus-4 rating. Additionally, King has skated in all 64 of his team's postseason games over the past three seasons, accumulating career playoff totals of 24 points (10-1424), 35 penalty minutes, and a plus-4 rating during that time.

King was originally selected by the Kings in the fourth round (109th overall) at the 2007 NHL Draft. The left wing recorded 124 points (50-74124) and 133 penalty minutes in 202 games with the Monarchs from 2009-13.

The Monarchs will drop the puck for their 14th season at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Friday, October 24.
