Bears Announce 2014 Pre-Season Schedule

HERSHEY, Pa. - The Hershey Bears announced today a list of four games comprising the 2014 pre-season schedule. The announcement was made by Bears President/GM Doug Yingst.
In preparation for the Bears' 77th season in the American Hockey League, the club will open its training camp on Sunday, September 28. Later in the week, Hershey will oppose two teams in a four-game pre-season slate.
There will be three teams in Pennsylvania for the first time since the 2008-2009 season, as the top developmental affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers begins play in Allentown this fall. The Lehigh Valley Phantoms will christen the ice at the brand-new PPL Center on Wednesday, October 1, and the Bears are the opponent in a 7:05 PM contest.
The two teams will rematch on Friday, October 3 at GIANT Center, with faceoff set for 7:00 PM.
A home-and-home set with the rival Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins will begin with a 7:05 PM matchup at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza on Saturday, October 4. The two teams will then face off in the Bears' pre-season finale on Sunday, October 5 at 5:00 PM in Chocolatetown.
Pre-season tickets will go on sale this Friday, August 1 at 10:00 AM. Tickets are $12.00 each for general admission and parking at the complex is free. Tickets are available by visiting the GIANT Center box office, by calling (717) 508-BEAR, or online at TicketMaster.com.
The complete Hershey Bears regular season schedule with dates, times and opponents will be announced following the official release from the American Hockey League, expected later in August.
