Kids Takeover Planned for Final Regular-Season Home Battle
April 10, 2024 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Sioux Falls Stampede News Release
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Sioux Falls Stampede prepares for the final series of the regular season this weekend, heading to Fargo, N.D. on Friday and hosting the Fargo Force at the PREMIER Center Saturday night. Saturday is Kid's Night at the Denny, as well as Take My Jersey Night, and the team has a lot planned for fans as it makes this last push for playoff positioning.
The Herd and Force have both clinched tickets to the Clark Cup Playoffs, but the Herd is pushing for positioning with the Lincoln Stars in the bottom two of the Western Conference playoff bracket. Playoff scenarios for the Western Conference and the Stampede's potential schedules are listed below. One point to note is the possibility of the Herd to host at least one game in the first round of playoffs. Due to scheduling conflicts, if the Sioux City Musketeers end in third place and the Stampede ends in sixth, Sioux City will host game one and the Herd would host the second and third, if needed.
The Force is 49-9-1-0 this season and recently broke the USHL record for most single-season wins. The Herd is 27-27-5-1 this season and is coming off of a three-game weekend in Kearney, Neb. and Sioux City, Iowa where they went 1-2.
On the schedule for Saturday night's 6:05 p.m. game are staples such as Mr. Twister's balloons, face painting, a photo booth and chuck-a-puck. Along with the usual happenings, fans will be able to purchase raffle tickets for the Stampede's third jerseys. The first half of the jerseys are set to be raffled in the first intermission with the second half going during the second intermission. Those that do not win the first drawing are automatically put back into the drum and are eligible for the second round. Winners will be able to select the jersey(s) they want once each round is complete. Cash and card will be accepted and proceeds benefit the Make A Wish Foundation. Raffle tickets prices are as follows: 1 ticket for $10, 3 tickets for $25 and 25 tickets for $100.
As it's Kid's Night, the kids are taking over the PREMIER Center. For the first time ever, kids will play a special role in the event. The kids will help to announce the starting lineup, co-host with Stampede In-Arena Host Charlie Eccles, design the Stampede's logos and graphics, take part in special promotions and much more!
Finally, fans can expect a few free items thanks to select Stampede sponsors. Brought to us by Dental Solutions, the first 1,000 kids through the doors will be able to grab a free custom Stampede coloring book and crayons. For kids and adults alike, the first 500 fans will get a copy of this year's team poster, thanks to Sioux Falls Specialty Hospital and Orthopedic Institute. Tickets to the final regular season game are available in limited quantities through the Stampede office, Ticketmaster or the KELOLAND box office.
