Brazos Valley Bombers News Release

Brazos Valley Bank Ballpark was rocking on Monday night, as kids played on the UPA Kids Zone for FREE all night, and the Bombers rallied from an 8 run deficit before ultimately losing the game 13-11 in extra innings. The loss puts the Bombers, 2 games back from first place in the TCL.

Things were rough for the team early on, as the Copperheads put up 7 runs in the 1st inning, and led by a score of 10-2 in the 2nd. The Bombers proved their mettle throughout the game, chipping away at the Copperheads monstrous lead before tying the score at 11 with a 5-run 8th inning. While the team failed to come up with the victory this time, they displayed the type of heart and the "never say die" attitude that will serve them well as they move deeper into the season.

It was a team effort at the plate, as every player for the Bombers reached base. Standouts offensively included Trey Porras, who went 3-7 with 3 runs scored and 2 runs batted in, and Brennyn Smith, who scored a run on his way to a 3-5 day at the plate with 2 runs batted in. Pitcher Andrew Massey also put up an impressive performance, throwing 5.1 innings without allowing an earned run to score.

The Bombers will look to settle the score with the Copperheads Tuesday night at Brazos Valley Bank Ballpark, where fans will enjoy Guaranteed Win Night, thanks to Jones & Lowe Agency. Should the Bombers fail to win the game, every fan in the attendance will be able to get into another game of their choosing for FREE. "Winning, Duh!" t-shirts will also be distributed at the game. On Wednesday the team will head to Alexandria to take on the Aces, before returning home for their weekend series against the Acadiana Cane Cutters. On Friday night, A&M Women's Basketball Head Coach Gary Blair will be in on hand to celebrate his own bobblehead give-away. Coach Blair is expected to take batting practice with the team this week in preparation for trip to the batter's box during Friday's game. For more information, please visit www.bvbombers.com.
