RICHMOND, Va. - The Richmond Kickers (4-5-4) are back on the road for the final match in a three games in seven days span to take on South Georgia Tormenta FC (6-9-1). Kickoff at Erk Russell Park match is set for 8:00 p.m. ET. Fans can head to Home Team Grill in The Fan, Saturday night, for a special watch party event that will begin at 7:30 pm.

Richmond's previous match was a midweek clash for the Kickers as they traveled to Cary, N.C. to line up against North Carolina FC for the third time this season. The match resulted in a 4-0 loss for the Kickers who look to learn from the match moving forward.

Despite the tough result on the road, the Reds returned to Richmond for two days of positive training sessions to prepare for Tormenta. Richmond Kickers' Chief Sporting Officer and Head Coach Darren Sawatzky's team looked to regen following the NCFC match before challenging each other for spots in the 18 ahead of Saturday's match.

The last time Richmond faced South Georgia Tormenta FC the two sides played at City Stadium early in May. Richmond won the match 2-0 after a late brace from Emiliano Terzaghi starting in the 80th minute with a goal assisted by Oalex Anderson and finishing with a successful penalty in the 89th minute.

Richmond was active in the attack and mustered 11 shots throughout the entirety of the 90 minutes. But the difference-maker in the match was the Richmond defense, who kept a clean sheet and racked up 21 interceptions, 19 clearances, and six blocks. On top of the spectacular defense, half of the starting lineup had a passing accuracy of 80% or higher and racked up 267 successful passes.

Tormenta's last matchup was against Greenville Triumph SC and resulted in a 3-2 win for the Georgia side. Goals by Micaletto, Mayr-Fälten and Mueller kept the former league champions at bay. Mayr-Fälten also registered an assist for the first of the goals by Micaletto. Mayr-Fälten had the most touches from the whole Tormenta side and won 100% of his aerial duels.

Richmond Kickers

Emiliano Terzaghi (#32) is currently tied in third place for the golden boot race this season with seven goals. Terzaghi has scored in two of his last three matches and only missed a goal-scoring opportunity by a whisker after a side volley at North Carolina's goal went just over the crossbar. Terzaghi is also tied in the squad for most assists (2) and is a pivotal player in the attack whether it's adding to the scoreline or creating the plays that do.

Jalen Crisler (#15) despite an unfortunate loss against North Carolina, Crisler showed resilience and humility with his performance. Crisler had two interceptions, one block, and gained possession five times. Crisler stepped into a new squad with the Kickers in 2021 and has managed 50 clearances, 17 interceptions, and 11 blocks so far this season with an 81.4% passing accuracy. Crisler helps set the tone for the backline and will play a big role against Tormenta.

Zaca Moran (#6) was awarded the Keiter Player of the Match against North Carolina. Moran has been the metronome for this Kickers' side for the majority of the season coming in as a new player. Moran's passing accuracy at this point in the season is 81.1%. Moran has also made 18 interceptions (3rd most in the squad) and averages 44.7 passes per 90 minutes.

South Georgia Tormenta FC

Marco Micaletto (#10) is Tormenta's leading goalscorer, with six goals, two of them from outside of the box. Micaletto has registered 13 shots on goal this season and has scored a goal every 239.8 minutes per season. Micaletto has also played the most minutes from this Tormenta side with 1,439.

Azaad Liadi (#9) scored against Greenville and assisted Marco Micaletto's goal. Liadi is a promising number 9 and has proved to link up well with the rest of the Tormenta offense as he's totaled four assists this season so far.

Pablo Jara (#1) has had four clean sheets this season and made four saves against Greenville. Jara has a save success rate of 64.8% and has made 35 saves this season.
