Richmond Kickers News Release

RICHMOND, VA – (Thursday, February 10, 2005) – The Richmond Kickers are pleased to announce a multi-year partnership with Richmond Kickers Youth Soccer Club (RKYSC), Pocoshock Valley Youth Soccer League (PVYSL), Midlothian Youth Soccer League (MYSL) and YMCA of Greater Richmond to provide over 3,500 Richmond Kickers "Pro Passes" to local youth soccer players.

Established in 2002, the Richmond Kickers "Pro Pass" program offers youth soccer players admission to all Richmond Kickers regular season home games and playoffs, as well as all Richmond Kickers Future (PDL) and Richmond Kickers Destiny (W-League) home games. The 2005 season marks the first agreement with RKYSC, PVYSL and MYSL in which the pass will be a part of every player's membership benefits. The Pro Pass will also be used as a "pilot program" at one or two Greater Richmond area YMCA locations, which are still to be determined. The relationship is mutually beneficial and supports the efforts of all parties involved to grow the sport of soccer, support local family entertainment and invite community participation.

"This is a win-win situation for the pro and youth community," comments Richmond Kickers Director of Soccer Programs Leigh Cowlishaw. "The Pro Pass provides our young players with exposure to exceptional role models and will also enhance their learning process by providing opportunities to see quality soccer action."

"Our Pro, PDL and W-League teams are committed to being an inspiration and motivation to our youth community," continues Cowlishaw. "We look forward to thousands of enthusiastic young fans supporting the Kickers this season."

"I've always felt that one of the areas most lacking in US Soccer is the ability of our youth players to witness a high level of soccer on a frequent basis," adds Richmond Kickers Youth Soccer Club General Manager Tim Krout. "The Pro Pass allows all of our players the opportunity to see some great soccer, which will enhance their development and their love of the game."

"Midlothian Youth Soccer League is very happy to partner with the Kickers to provide a Pro Pass for all our players," states MYSL Executive Director John Addison. "This is a mutually beneficial program, but the biggest winners are the kids who get to see their local professional soccer team and learn more about the game. Increased exposure to the professional level will help the game grow and foster a desire for kids to emulate the skills of their favorite players."

"The Greater Richmond community benefits from having and in turn supporting the presence of professional sports," comments Barry Taylor, President/CEO YMCA of Greater Richmond. "The Richmond Kickers provides a level of professional sports that provides a venue for children and families to enjoy a day out while strengthening family ties. Whether you are a professional soccer player or a child having fun, sports can provide a lifetime of fun and healthy development. Go Kickers"

In addition, 2005 Pro Passes will be available for purchase for all youth ages 3-17. For more information, call (804) 644-KICK or visit www.RichmondKickers.com.
