Rochester Rhinos News Release

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Raging Rhinos have signed defenders Jason Perry and Ryan Hall, and forward Anthony Maher earlier this week.

Perry, the 6-3, 185-pound defender from Southfield, Michigan, appeared in 13 games with the Syracuse Salty Dogs last season, collecting one assist. Perry was selected by the Los Angeles Galaxy (MLS) in the fifth round (43rd overall) of the 2003 Major League Soccer SuperDraft. Perry was a standout defender at Oakland University, where he was named the 2003 Mid-Continent Conference Defensive Player of the Year. In his collegiate career, Perry was a three-time All-Mid-Continent Conference selection and helped lead the team to two consecutive NCAA Division I Tournaments.

Maher, the 6-0, 180-pound native of Cape May, New Jersey, had a stellar collegiate career at Mercyhurst (PA) College. In his senior year, Maher was named a NCAA Division II First Team All-American, First Team All-Region and Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year. Maher led the Lakers in goals (24) and assists (15), and finished second in Division II in points with 63. Maher finished his career as the college's all-time leader in points and goals.

Before joining the Salty Dogs, Maher scored 14 goals and added one assist with the Wilmington Hammerheads (Second Division). Maher was named the United Soccer League Player of the Week twice during his time with the Hammerheads. Maher is currently on loan from the Kansas City Comets of the Major Indoor Soccer League. Maher is currently second in the MISL in goal scoring (20) and 13th in points with 25 (20+5).

Hall, the 5-11, 165-pound defender from Great Falls, Virginia, attended Syracuse University, where he collected 19 points in his four year career with the Orange. Hall was named a Big East Conference Academic All-Star during his junior season. Along with playing two seasons with the Salty Dogs, Hall is currently playing with the Cleveland Force of the MISL.

"All three players bring different elements to the team," Rhinos Head Coach Laurie Calloway said. "Jason (Perry) is a talented, young player who is a great defender. Anthony (Maher) is the ultimate team player that can play either forward or midfield and be successful. Ryan (Hall) is an aggressive defender that works very hard on the field."
