Khalil Greene Returning to Upstate with BayBears

Former Clemson Tiger All-American infielder KHALIL GREENE will be making his only appearance of the Southern League baseball season in Greenville when the Mobile BayBears come to Municipal Stadium for a four-game series beginning on Thursday, May 1st. The BayBears, San Diego's "AA" affiliate, will take on the Greenville Braves in single games Thursday - Sunday. Gametimes are 7:15pm, with the exception of the Sunday contest which will commence at 1:15pm.

Greene, who was named college baseball's Player of the Year in 2002, was a three-time All-American at Clemson. He was drafted by the Padres in the first-round last June and is playing shortstop for Mobile. Entering Tuesday's action, Greene is batting .237 with two home runs and five RBI in 24 games played.

The Braves, who wrap up a four-game roadtrip at Huntsville with a 1:05pm game Tuesday, are 12-11 on the season. Following an off-day Wednesday, Greenville will host Mobile for four games and then hit the road for an eight-game trip to Tennessee and Chattanooga.
