Frederick Keys News Release
Frederick, MD - In accordance with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, Maryland Forest Service, and the State of Maryland Fire Marshall's Office the Frederick Keys have postponed Fireworks Shows regularly scheduled for Thursday, April 6th and Friday, April 7th.
The Maryland Department of Natural Resources, Maryland Forest Service, and the State of Maryland Fire Marshall's Office has enacted a statutory statewide open air burning ban to include public firework shows. This ban will remain in effect until the Maryland Forest Service determines sufficient precipitation has been received to reduce the threat of wildfires statewide. The Department is monitoring the situation daily and will provide regular updates to the public.
Tickets for either postponed Fireworks Night will be redeemable for any remaining regular season Keys home game (including but not limited to firework nights) seat for seat based on availability. The two postponed firework shows will be turned into a "Super Show" on Saturday, May 6 - this date is now added to the fireworks lineup.
While Fireworks will not be a part of the festivities the Frederick Keys will open their season against the Lynchburg Hillcats on Thursday, April 6th at 6 PM. The Keys will honor members of the 2005 Mills Cup Champion team during a pre-game Championship Ring Ceremony. Tickets are still available for Opening Night by calling the Frederick Keys Box Office at 1-877-8-GO-KEYS.
