Frederick Keys News Release

The Frederick Keys, Class Single-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, today named Dave Ziedelis as the team's General Manager.

Ziedelis, carefully selected through a nationwide search, joins the Keys after five seasons with the Swing of the Quad Cities (formerly the Quad City River Bandits), the St. Louis Cardinals Class Single-A affiliate in the Midwest League. Ziedelis had been with the Swing since 1999, most recently serving as the team's Vice President and General Manager, where he was instrumental in the design, construction and implementation of a $14 million state-of-the-art stadium renovation.

In his new role Ziedelis will oversee all day-to-day operations of the Keys, including sponsorships and advertising sales, marketing and public relations and enhancing the fan experience through game presentation. Additionally, he will be responsible for increasing season ticket sales and sponsorship opportunities for various business and partners throughout the Frederick region. He will also create new and exciting opportunities for both the Keys and their fans.

"David brings a tremendous amount of experience in minor league baseball to the Keys and we're very excited to have him on our team," said Comcast-Spectacor Vice President of Minor League Operations Frank Miceli. "We conducted a very extensive search and feel David is the top candidate to take the Keys to the next level in minor league baseball."

Outside of baseball, Ziedelis has worked on an array of projects that have strengthened his foundation in business, serving as the Marketing Manager of the America's Cup '95 Yacht Races. From August 1995 until January 1997, he was the Regional Special Events Director for the American Cancer Society and most recently served as the Director of Sports Marketing for Pacific Business Promotions, between February 1997 and December of 1999.

Ziedelis graduated from Temple University with a B.A. in Journalism and Advertising in 1988. He got his start in baseball soon after graduation with the San Diego Padres, first as a Front Office Assistant, where he worked closely in the production of the 1992 Major League Baseball All-Star Game in San Diego, CA. In October of 1992, Ziedelis was named the San Diego Padres Public Relations Manager, where he directed community events.

The Frederick Keys will open the 2005 season on the road against the Lynchburg Hillcats (Pittsburgh Pirates) on April 8th. The Keys will play their home opener against the Salem Avalanche (Houston Astros) on April 11, at Harry Grove Stadium.
