Frederick Keys News Release

FREDERICK, MD -Earlier today, the Keys were announced as the winners of the Esurance Home Field Advantage Award for the Carolina League. This honor was presented to the MiLB club in each of the 14 MiLB leagues with the highest attendance rate based on ballpark capacity. Each winning team will be recognized at the Baseball Winter Meetings on Monday, December 5.

For the fifth consecutive year, the Keys not only led the Carolina League, but all of Advanced-A Baseball in attendance (spanning the Carolina, California and Florida State Leagues). In 2016, 314,443 fans attended a Keys game, while Frederick also averaged a league-high 4,838 patrons per contest.

In each of the last five years, the Keys have welcomed 300,000 or more to Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium. It marks the third time in franchise history that has occurred (2012-present, 1998-2002, 1991-1995). This year, the Keys were the only team at the Advanced-A classification to entertain 300,000 or more fans.

In the 28-year history of the team, more than eight million fans have come out to a Keys game. This includes celebrities and dignitaries ranging from Pat Sajak and Shooter McGavin to President George H.W. Bush.

The Frederick Keys will announce their 2017 schedule at a later date. For news and information about the team and offseason news, fans can visit frederickkeys.com
