
Kernels win two MWL Executive Awards

The Midwest League of Professional Baseball Clubs announced its 2007 Executive Award Winners and the Cedar Rapids Kernels garnered two of the four awards.
The Rawlings Woman Executive of the Year was awarded to Jessica Fergesen, the Kernels Director of Community Relations, as the individual who has made an outstanding contribution to her club, league or baseball during the past season.
The John H. Johnson President's Trophy was awarded to the Kernels as the club who best exemplifies the standards of the complete baseball franchise, such as financial success of operation, contributions to the baseball community and baseball industry, and long-term franchise stability.
The Larry MacPhail Promotional Trophy was awarded to the West Michigan Whitecaps and the Midwest League Executive of the Year was awarded to Rob Zerjav of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.
The award winners are all nominated for these same awards at the national level as the winners will be announced at the Baseball Winter Meetings, held in Nashville TN at the Gaylord Opryland Resort, December 3-6.
