Kennedy Pitches Complete Game Shutout

San Angelo, Texas- Brett Kennedy (4-1) pitched a complete game shutout dominating the San Angelo Colts (20-17) 4-0 Sunday night at Foster Field.

Kennedy was perfect till the top of the fifth inning until Danny Hernandez snuck a base hit over Troy Zawadzki's head breaking up the perfect game. Kennedy scattered two hits while fanning six through a full nine innings work.

Meanwhile The Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings (18-19) offense lifted Kennedy's dominate performance.

In the bottom of the fourth inning Roberto Ramirez scored on a fielder's choice giving the Wings an early 1-0 lead, in the fourth inning Michael Garcia would reach first on a hit by pitch. Andrew Deeds would score Garcia on a RBI double making it 2-0 Wings.

The Wings extended their lead by adding on runs in the sixth inning. Ramirez led off the inning with a single followed by Kevin Lusson's infield single, setting the stage for Kieran Bradford who smashed a double off the wall scoring Ramirez and Lusson extending the lead to 4-0.

Kennedy becomes the first pitcher to shutout the Colts this season as the Wings take game one of the four game series.

Game two is set for Monday as the Wings send Ray Hanson to face off against Alex Bates. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
