
Kengor's Homer Leads Patriots to Sunday Win

High Point, North Carolina - The Somerset Patriots (5-5, 47-33) used a late home run to top the High Point Rockers (5-6, 46-35) 4-1 Sunday afternoon at BB&T Point.
The game remained scoreless through the first four innings before the Patriots broke through in the fifth. Edwin Espinal blooped a one-out double down the left field line and later scored on a Scott Kelly RBI fielder's choice.
High Point tied the game in the bottom of the fifth on a Viosergy Rosa run-scoring double-play.
Somerset regained the lead the next half inning on a two-out, three-run home run off the bat of Will Kengor (9).
Tyler Cloyd tossed a scoreless sixth inning in his return, setting the stage for Jonathan Cheshire (S, 4) to lock down the game with a scoreless seventh.
Rick Teasley (W, 2-0) surrendered just one run over five innings with four strikeouts to earn the win. Brian Clark (L, 1-2) allowed three runs over one inning of relief to take the loss.
The Patriots will have Monday off before beginning a three-game set at Clipper Magazine Stadium against the Lancaster Barnstormers on Tuesday.
The 2019 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford continues on the road until Friday, July 26th when the Patriots return home to host the Long Island Ducks.
