At the league level, Kemmer finished first in slugging and OPS. He also ranked among the top 10 players in six other categories: runs scored, doubles, home runs, RBIs (65), total bases, and on-base percentage.

Kemmer earned Texas League Player of the Month honors for August, when he hit .376 with 22 runs, 13 doubles, three triples, four home runs, and 19 RBIs over 27 games. The TL postseason All-Star worked 13 walks against 13 strikeouts in 101 at-bats, logging an OPS of 1.145.

Kemmer, 24, was drafted by Houston in the 21st round of the 2013 draft from Brewton-Parker College in Mount Vernon, Ga. He homered in his first professional plate appearance for the Tri-City ValleyCats on June 18 of that year. During 2014, Kemmer batted .291 in 91 games between Class A Quad Cities of the Midwest League and High-A Lancaster of the California League.
