Kelusky Named to NLL All-Pro Team
May 1, 2003 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Calgary Roughnecks News Release
The National Lacrosse League today announced Calgary Roughnecks captain Tracey Kelusly has been named to the National Lacrosse League All-Pro First Team.
Kelusky led all Roughnecks players with his 63 points leading the club in goals with 37 despite missing three games to an injury early in the season.
"There is no doubt that Tracey was the heart and soul of our team this year. His leadership both on and off the floor are a big reason we made such a turn around in just our second season." said Roughnnecks general manager, Brad Banister.
Postseason awards are nothing new to the Roughnecks forward, as he was named NLL Rookie of the Year in 2001, an All-Pro Second Team selection in 2001 and an All-Pro First Team selection in 2002.
Kelusky was twice named NLL Overall Player of the Week this season. In his first game as a member of the Roughnecks he led the club to 14-9 win over the Ottawa Rebel in which he tallied four goals and added five assists. Then on March 30th at the Pengrowth Saddledome, Kelusky scored a career high eight goals and added an assist in a 26-16 victory again over the Ottawa Rebel en route to his second Player of the Week honours.
The award to Kelusky marks the third postseason award to the Roughnecks, as earlier in the week Lewis Ratcliff was named to the NLL All-Rookie Team and Roughnecks president and general manager Brad Banister was recognized as NLL Executive of the Year yesterday.
National Lacrosse League awards are determined by a vote of the Governors, General Managers and Head Coaches of the twelve member clubs.
