
Kelsey Mitchell Finishes with 21 Points in Wednesday Matinée against Sun

INDIANAPOLIS - Indiana Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell led all scorers with her league-leading 16th 20-point game this season as Indiana fell to the Connecticut Sun, 89-81, at Indiana Farmers Coliseum on Wednesday afternoon. Mitchell finished with 21 points and three assists as Indiana dropped to 5-20 this season, while Connecticut improved to 15-8.
The Fever scored a season-high 35 points and outscored Connecticut by 11 in the final quarter to decrease the deficit to single digits before the Sun secured its first win after the WNBA All-Star break.
Fever guard Victoria Vivians made a season-high eight field goals to cap the day with 17 points and tied a team-best with four assists. After representing the Fever in the WNBA Skills Challenge this past weekend, rookie forward NaLyssa Smith logged her seventh double-double this season with 12 points and a team-high 13 rebounds.
In her first game back from health and safety protocols, center Queen Egbo added 10 points, while Danielle Robinson tallied 11 points and three assists off the bench. Robinson secured 13th place all-time in assists in league history after entering the game tied with Teresa Weatherspoon with 1,338 dimes. She now trails Temeka Johnson in 12th place with 1,382 career assists.
In her fourth starting appearance this season, Tiffany Mitchell finished with eight points and went 4-of-4 from the charity stripe. Mitchell (561) passed Briann January (560) for second all-time in franchise history for most free throws made. She trails only Tamika Catchings, who made 2,004 free throws during her Fever career.
For Connecticut, DeWanna Bonner finished with 19 points and became the 14th player in WNBA history to reach 6,000 career points. Last year's Most Valuable Player, Jonquel Jones, finished with 20 points and 14 rebounds, while Brionna Jones came off the bench to add 17 points. Natisha Hiedeman and Courtney Williams each poured in 11 and 10 points.

The Fever will play its final regular season home game at Indiana Farmers Coliseum on Friday at 7 p.m. ET against the Minnesota Lynx. The final four Fever regular season home games will be played at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
