Kelowna Ejected from Playoffs

The Portland Winterhawks eliminated the Kelowna Rockets from the Western Hockey League playoffs with a 5-3 win Thursday night in Kelowna, completing a four game sweep of the Rockets in the first round of the WHL playoffs.

Ty Rattie scored four times, Sven Bartschi had two helpers and Taylor Leier scored the winning goal six minutes into the third period, snapping a 3-3 tie.

The Rockets played its most competitive game of the series on Thursday, battling back from one goal deficits three different times and limiting the Winterhawks to its lowest shot total of the series.

Brett Bulmer returned to the Rockets lineup after serving a one game suspension and was named the second star with a goal and two helpers in his return to the Rockets.

Goalie Adam Brown was sensational in net, keeping his team in the game, but falling short in his final game in a Rockets uniform.
