Keesean Ferdinand Among Top Defenders to Watch in MLS Next Pro

A familiar face returning to Timbers2, and one on very attacker's radar heading into 2024, is defender Keesean Ferdinand.

The 20-year-old has been highlighted as one of five defenders to watch in 2024 by MLS NEXT Pro, thanks to his performances last season. During his 28 appearances (26 starts) for T2 in 2023, Ferdinand completed 87 percent of passes, and made 87 clearances, which tied for eighth among all MLS NEXT Pro players. Amongst the returning T2 players for 2024, the 20-year-old Canadian ranks first in aerial duels won, second in clearances, and first in interceptions.

T2 opens its 2024 MLS Next Pro on Friday, March 15, when they travel to Herriman, Utah, for a showdown with Real Monarchs. Kickoff is scheduled for 6pm PT and can be streamed on MLS Season Pass.
